Coles Sippy Downs – SDDCA Pre-Opening Tour & Community Invitation

‘On Tuesday the SDDCA had the opportunity to tour the brand new Coles Sippy Downs store and with just over 10 days to go until the store opens we would have to say that is certainly shaping up to be a refreshingly new and exciting shopping experience.

We would like to thank the Coles management team for the opportunity to take a look at the store today and we are very much looking forward to attending the community carnival family festival on Friday the 20th of January from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on site at Coles Sippy Downs.

Coles invites the entire community to come on down for the community carnival evening with sideshow alley games and rides, animal farm and jumping castles plus MKR live cooking with Chris and Cookie, Hot 91.1 in attendance plus lots more! And, a fireworks display to finish off the evening.

The store officially opens for trading at 8 a.m. the following morning, Saturday the 21st of January and we are told that there will be a whole range of amazing specials available in store to celebrate.

Coles Sippy Downs has been a long time coming but it’s finally here! Make sure you don’t miss out on their amazing FREE launch event!

PS free parking will be available on the street and at USC from 4:30pm.’

Map 237 Sippy Downs Drive

There has been a lot of speculation on what will become of the land bordering Claymore Road, Sippy Downs Drive and the existing Police Station property for quite some time.

Over the last few months as shown on the Sunshine Coast Council PD online DA Digital Management and Approval system an application has been lodged and progressing detailing what appears to be a brand new Caltex Service Centre and 3 fast food establishments with drive-thru facilities. This application is currently in progress and is currently presenting a “Not Determined” status via the Sunshine Coast Council’s PD Online web service

Architectural Proposal Plans-1

At this time based on the information available via the PD online website it would appear two of the fast food outlets May include McDonald’s and KFC however this information is only based upon the visual imagery provided within the actual development application located in the link below.

With the recent approval and announcement of the Youii Headquarters commencing here in Sippy Downs and the upcoming Palmview Development located between Sippy Downs and the Bruce Highway on top of the current Coles construction this signifies yet another significant step forward in the ongoing development and refinement of Sippy Downs infrastructure and commercial construction.

Coles to open early 2017

Coles to open early 2017

Today I had the pleasure of attending a site visit to the Coles development project in the Sippy Downs Town Centre.
I was joined by Coles representatives, the building foreman, a council planner and one of our civil engineers.
During the tour I had the opportunity to walk inside the building and see the progress being made to date.
So what’s happening?

– The walls and roof beams are up.

– Roofing and insulation is being installed.

– Plumbing is occurring along with site drainage.
– A new right turn lane has been installed on Sippy Downs Drive.
The project is progressing well despite the weather with areas of the site holding water showing the need for adequate draininge.
A few questions raised by the community:
Q) When will the centre open?
A) Early 2017.
Q) When can residents apply for jobs?
A) Recruitment will occur during November 2016. Please checkout to raise your interest in working for the store.

Q) Will there be enough parking and how will it be regulated to stop students parking there?
A) There will be 170 parking spaces and the centre will have timed parking which will be monitored by parking regulators.
Warm regards,

POLL – Real Estate “Want to sell your Property?” Advertising

Raised in the Sippy Downs Community – Unmuzzled Facebook group last night was the topic of Real Estate “Want to sell your Property?” Advertising.

The post read:

Hello Sippy Downs Real Estate Agents,
Over the past 4 or 5 months I feel that real estate agents have bombarded our neighbourhood with Real Estate Brochures, hand written notes, door knocks and personally addressed letters.
When the kids refer to the agent by first name it’s a bit much!
We know the real estate agents better then the council rep’s that we are ment to vote for this weekend.
All I am saying backoff a bit if we want to sell we will come to you but until then our daily quota of brochures will continue to find the bin or I may save them up and return them to you!

Blessings from a resident not wanting to sell.

The reaction to this post was resounding with not one comment disagreeing with the gentlemans opinion.

As an admin of this group I LOVE to convert complaints and dramas in actions with valuable outcomes. Let us know what you think about this statement and vote below. Closes on 2016-03-23 at 23:00 with results available LIVE.

I volunteer (If anyone would would like to join me feel free) to take the results to each and every local real estate and ask them for a reply to be posted in this group or returned via email with replies to be posted in “Sippy Downs Community Unmuzzled” Facebook Group once the agents provide responses. Cut off for responses will be 27th of March at which point I guess we can assume that they don’t care about potential clients wishes.

Share, Vote and enact change together… #unmuzzledlife

(Footnote: While grabbing a coffee this morning from the AMAZING peeps at “Evolution Espresso” here in Sippy Downs I bumped into a local Real Estate Principal who had already seen the POLL and thought is was a great idea. Businesses can pay 1000’s of dollars to get feedback from their current and potential clients, yet we as a community can support them and give them the same data for FREE! Jump on this POLL and together lets support our local Real Estate Agents and in turn hear from them, their thoughts on our opinions and perception of their marketing endeavours.)
