We have worked hard to keep the registration fees as affordable as possible to ensure we keep kids active and out there participating in soccer. This has been achieved through everyone’s hard work volunteering and fundraising through the season. Our club has one of the most affordable fees – even within our Churches association.
Not only that but next year the kids will be running around the paddock in brand new jerseys – thanks to a generous sponsorship agreement with Banjo’s Bakery, Sippy Downs.
Can’t wait to see you all on the fields in the new year.
CHILDREN’S STORY WRITING COMPETITION | Grades 4 – 9
This is your opportunity to participate in the 2018 “Telling Stories” children’s story writing competition organised by Mooloolaba Rotary in partnership with the Creative Writing Program, USC and Voices on the Coast.
Everyone would agree that we need to encourage our young children to read and write.
With this objective in mind, Mooloolaba Rotary together with the USC and Voices on the Coast has organised the Children’s Story Writing Competition open until August 20 and culminates in an Awards Night at the University on 15 October 2018.
One of the cornerstones of Rotary International is the “4 Way Test” namely:
Is it the Truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
There is contentious debate on the issue of Climate Change but almost everyone will agree that a lot more needs to be done to protect our environment. With this in mind and in the spirit of the “4 Way Test”, the title of the 2018 Telling Stories competition is:
“I should have saved the tree”.
The Competition will be open to all students in Grades 4-9 who will be required to submit a story of 300-1000 words. Entries will be open from 4 June and will close at midnight on 20 August.
Entries will be judged and the winners selected by the Creative Writing Program, USC (See “partners” below).
• Winners in each Grade – $1oo cash and a medal
• Runners-up (2nd and 3rd) – $50 cash and a medal
• Runners-up (4th and 5th) – Certificate
• Overall winner – Professor Gary Crew Trophy, $300 cash and a medal
