The old adage don’t cry over spilled milk is very wise indeed and the message is simple… the only time we have any power to enact change is before something happens.
Something is about to happen, the milk is spilling, but it’s not spilled yet! As we have shared before, it is important that the community stands up and shows their desire for a much needed proposed community facility precinct for Sippy Downs – by completing a letter of support which can be completed via the link below.
Submitted letters of support will be used to demonstrate community interest to the council.

There will be a display at Chancellor Park Market Place (outside Woolworths) on Thursday 20 Sept from 9am to 5pm with members Innovative Planning Solutions and the Sippy Downs and District Community Association Inc on site. Residents are encouraged to attend and view maps and plans of the proposed development and complete a letter of support.

This fundraising initiative is raising funds for two very special projects. Half of the raffle proceeds will go towards the Chancellor State College Secondary Campus “Cool Chancellor” Air-conditioning Fund and the other half to the Primary Campus new “Friendship Playground”.

Bullying is an important topic and the upcoming Bullying Info Session is a great place for Chancellor State College parents to gain some insight into this troubling social issue. The consequences that can result from unaddressed bullying can and do have devastating, debilitating and lasting effects on the many young heart and minds who have experienced it and in the most extreme cases can end the tragic loss of life.
Over recent years bullying has been a focus of a considerable amount of research both nationally and internationally with data collected across 40 countries showing that Australian primary schools had the highest reported incidents of bullying in the world (Mullis, Martin, & Foy, 2008).
In recent months there has been what appears to be an increase in bullying at Chancellor State School based upon anecdotal evidence published by parents across a number of local social media groups so the announcement of an upcoming parent information session on bullying at Chancellor is a welcome opportunity for parents to get better educated.
The Session will be covering cyberbullying, cyber safety, responsible social media usage, safe social networking, how to beat a bully in addition to covering Australian law and the potential consequences of being a bully.
This event is to be held on Friday the 22nd of June between 2 and 3 p.m. at Chancellor State College Primary Campus ( Scholars Drive Sippy Downs ) library in the Blue Room.
In a post on the Chancellor State College Parents & Citizens’ Association Facebook Page on Friday the question was asked whether there are other sessions planned for a night time session with an official response stating that “… unfortunately the times of the session are limited due to availability of the presenters. However if there is an interest from our community we can look to hold an evening session on this topic in the near future…”

SDDCA AGM 2017 – Public Date Notification
Please be advised the annual general meeting of the Sippy Downs & District Community Association Inc (SDDCA) will be held on Wednesday 13th of September 2017, commencing at 7 pm.
The venue will be the Chancellor State College Primary Campus Hall, Scholars Drive, Sippy Downs.
All residents are welcome to attend the AGM, but only financial members of the SDDCA are able to vote.

Guest speakers information will be sent out and announced over the coming weeks with invited speakers representing a diverse range of community stakeholders and representatives set to provide an informative update on the local area.
