Local resident and Chancellor State School student Emily has decided to participate in the World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser and will be cutting 30cm off her hair so Sippy Downs and district residents we are calling on you to support this young lady to achieve a fundraising goals for this fantastic cause.
- Cutting her hair is a big deal as she loves her long, thick hair and doesn’t even like to have it trimmed – so for a teenage girl this has been a BIG decision, not made lightly, but for a great cause!
- Emily said to family and friends, “cancer patients don’t have a choice re their hair when going through chemotherapy – I have a choice and it is something positive I am able to do to help out” – even though she doesn’t really want to cut it.
- Money raised goes towards cancer research and services
- Emily’s hair will go to make a wig for a cancer patient.

Sippy Downs residents here is you chance to truly have your say about future parks upgrades for the entire area.
This is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for local residents to actively take part in providing Sunshine Coast Council and in turn Cr Christian Dickson – Division 6 the information they need to deliver future improvements to parks in Sippy Downs, Queensland that are truly needed and wanted.
It is essential that as local residents we all take part in this survey to ensure that the upgrades to be included in this Master Plan are truly representative of community needs and wants.
We are very excited to not only see these upgrades on their way but thrilled to see the consultation for this master plan being delivered in a way that is truly collaborative, inclusive and available to each and every local resident including mail outs to residents letterboxes for those who do not use social media or local news and information websites.
Been wanting an upgrade to your local park? The more responses you harvest for your local park the greater the likely hood of it’s inclusion in the final plans so share this post as widely as possible.

The Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Greg Hill invites you to take part in one of the University’s biggest events of the year—Imaginarium—and we can’t do it without you!
On Sunday 9 August 2015, we invite the wider community to engage with us, explore our fabulous facilities, and see firsthand the brilliant contribution that USC makes to the Sunshine Coast region and beyond.
To ensure the day is a success, we strongly encourage all staff to participate in whatever way you can. Last year it took more than 300 staff and students to make this an outstanding event. This year, we need even more volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly. So mark this date in your diary, and help us to promote our campus to the community.
To volunteer to help at this event, email email@example.com to register your interest.
