This year’s Christmas Eve Carols is free family-friendly event will be held on the oval behind the Chancellor State College Primary Campus Hall (See Map Below) and if the weather is inclement the event will proceed in the hall. This year’s Christmas Eve Carols thanks to, Chancellor Park Community Church who are, this year, supported by the Sippy Downs & District Community Assoc.
The Sausage Sizzle is free and Barista made Coffee will be available for a gold coin donation with some activities for kids available after 6pm.

PARKING

Free parking is available in Scholars Drive at the primary school and parking is also available at the nearest car parks at University however fees may apply. See picture below for more details.

WATER WISDOM – Free Public Information Day

Water Wisdom: Effective and sustainable management of water is one of the most crucial challenges facing our region. Water demand from our growing population is increasing at the same time as the yield of our dams is decreasing due to the changes we are experiencing in our climate.

It is important that our community is informed about the urban water cycle in order that they can have informed opinions.
A free information day will cover topics including an overview of water sources, drinking water, what we put into water when we use it, how we take it out again and how we can be sure that it has been taken out. We will learn about membrane technology for desalination and water recycling.

This event is not to be missed, with clear and easily understandable presentations by some of Australia’s foremost experts in their fields including Ian Law, A. Prof Helen Stratton, Tony McAlister, Warren Traves, Peter Griffiths, Tim Odgers, Jenifer Simpson and Seqwater CEO Jim Pruss.

SDDCA AGM 2017 – Public Date Notification

1937471_527904220642614_2702356975071908901_nPlease be advised the annual general meeting of the Sippy Downs & District Community Association Inc (SDDCA) will be held on Wednesday 13th of September 2017, commencing at 7 pm.

The venue will be the Chancellor State College Primary Campus Hall, Scholars Drive, Sippy Downs.
All residents are welcome to attend the AGM, but only financial members of the SDDCA are able to vote.

Household Membership is $20 per household per year or $10 for concession holders. To become a member now click HERE.

Guest speakers information will be sent out and announced over the coming weeks with invited speakers representing a diverse range of community stakeholders and representatives set to provide an informative update on the local area.

Nominations close at 5 pm on 30th August 2017.

The following positions of will be declared vacant at the AGM – President, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster and Committee members.

A number of current members of the management committee will be renominating however we call out to the community for anyone interesting in building upon the great work done by the SDDCA over the last 13 plus years by joining the management team for the 2017 – 18 year and beyond.

Each Month the SDDCA Management Committee Meets to Discuss Local Issues and Challenges in order to deliver solutions that benefit the community under the guidelines of the SDDCA Constitution.

Our next meeting is this coming Tuesday the 15th of August.

All committee meetings are held at the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast, 90 Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs, Queensland 4556 and commence at 6pm

We welcome attendance by community members and urge the community become members of the SDDCA and take an active role in the exploration and delivery of opportunities for growth, events and more.
