The old adage don’t cry over spilled milk is very wise indeed and the message is simple… the only time we have any power to enact change is before something happens.
Something is about to happen, the milk is spilling, but it’s not spilled yet! As we have shared before, it is important that the community stands up and shows their desire for a much needed proposed community facility precinct for Sippy Downs – by completing a letter of support which can be completed via the link below.
Submitted letters of support will be used to demonstrate community interest to the council.
This link also includes images and information on the proposal.
Following a lot of conjecture in the community about what is happening in relation to traffic & parking at Chancellor State Primary School (in Scholars Dr, Sippy Downs) and the overflow parking issues that plague the local community at pick up times for students, we arranged an interview with (Councillor) Cr Christian Dickson to see where he is at in delivering much needed solutions.
We urge all members of the community who may be affected by parking and traffic problems to watch this interview to ensure you are up to date with the current progress and fully aware of potential issues and possible action that may need to be taken to deliver real solutions.
As discussed in the interview we will present a progress update in a few weeks.
Sippy Downs Parking Issues – Chancellor State Primary School and surrounding area.
THE RECENT ISSUE OF PARKING AND TRAFFIC AROUND CHANCELLOR PARK PRIMARY AFFECTING LOCAL FAMILIES SAFETY AND WELLBEING HAS COME TO THE POINT WHERE ACTION IS REQUIRED.
We are calling to the local community to sign a petition to assist in leveraging local government, dept of education and associated responsible organisations to address this issue. The petition is being taken around Chancellor Park Primary School in the afternoons between 2.15pm and 3.15pm and is also located at IGA Chancellor Park, Sippy Downs Doctors Surgery, Helping Hands Vacation Care, the Primary School office and thanks to the Community Website it will be located at the noticeboard.
We need your support, this issue has been going on now for many years with some small fixes that have seen minor improvements however with increased student numbers and housing the congestion and safety at school pickup time is again unacceptable.
Thank you for your support.
If you cannot get to any of the petition locations please download sign and return the attached petition to the details listed below.
