Claymore Road, Sippy Downs – Road reseal and rehabilitation program.

Council is committed to providing and maintaining infrastructure to service the needs of the region. This commitment is achieved through the Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program.

A section of pavement will be rehabilitated on Claymore Road, Sippy Downs. Work includes strengthening the subgrade, replacing the pavement, adding a new asphalt wearing surface and reinstating line marking. The resurfacing will provide a new pavement capable of many years of performance.

Stage 1: Profiling, cement stabilisation and first layer sealing will occur from Friday 18 to Friday 25 January 2019, excluding Sunday (weather permitting). Works will occur between 6am and 5pm. A period of curing will follow these works where no activity will occur until curing is complete.

Stage 2: Second seal and asphalt works will occur from Thursday 7 February to Tuesday 12 February 2019, excluding Sunday (weather permitting). Works will occur between 9am and 3pm.

My office has received a fair amount of complaints regarding the condition of Claymore Road at Sippy Downs. Council has committed $700,000 to bring Claymore Road up to far better standard. It is no secret that there will be traffic delays with such a large project, however after the high level of requests to fix the road, we are doing our best to deliver another positive project for the community. Our team will be making sure to avoid delays around peak morning and afternoon times, however this project must be completed and we kindly ask for your patience.

Kind regards,

Cr Christian Dickson

Christian is the Division 6 Councillor for the Sunshine Coast Council.

Christian was elected at the age of 19 years old in October 2006. In 2008 Christian was re-elected as the local councillor for Division 6 as part of the amalgamated Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

In the 2012 local election Christian was elected unopposed, something that was unexpected and very humbling.

Having been re-elected in 2016 he feels that he has a strong mandate to work hard for the community whilst continuing to deliver important projects in Division 6.

Christian feels “blessed” having the opportunity to live on the Sunshine Coast and having the opportunity to work with local resident's to improve lived experiences in our region.
