Sippy Downs Parents Connect – Family Support

Sippy Downs Parents Connect is an initiative led by Caloundra Community Centre and the SDDCA, delivered under Caloundra Community Centre’s Caloundra & Hinterland Family Support Program and the SDDCA’s commitment to ensuring that local residents are aware and have access to any and all support services and resources available to them in times of need or simply wanting to be the very best that they can be. It’s also a great place to connect with other local parents.

What is family support?

Caloundra & Hinterland Family Support Program provides a range of universal, early intervention programs to families with young children. This program offers a range of strength based family centred supports to families living in Caloundra & in Hinterland Communities.

The program offers:

  • Volunteer Home Visiting Service
  • Intensive Family Support
  • A Range of Group Options for Parents and Children
  • Parenting Education Strategies

By reinforcing parental capacity through skills, information & support, we aim to support parents to strengthen parent/child relationships and support positive change in family functioning.
We all know that parenting is a challenging & often sometimes overwhelming task. Some people have the benefits of family or friends in meeting these challenges. However, not everyone in the community is so fortunate. The program is committed to supporting families reach their full potential and optimal functioning through supporting parenting skills development & family relationships, building interventions that are non-threatening, flexible in approach & preventative in orientation.

The Volunteer Home Visiting Program is a free service to parents with babies or young children. Families who choose to use the program and who meet the criteria are linked to trained volunteers known as community parents.
