Bullying is an important topic and the upcoming Bullying Info Session is a great place for Chancellor State College parents to gain some insight into this troubling social issue. The consequences that can result from unaddressed bullying can and do have devastating, debilitating and lasting effects on the many young heart and minds who have experienced it and in the most extreme cases can end the tragic loss of life.
Over recent years bullying has been a focus of a considerable amount of research both nationally and internationally with data collected across 40 countries showing that Australian primary schools had the highest reported incidents of bullying in the world (Mullis, Martin, & Foy, 2008).
In recent months there has been what appears to be an increase in bullying at Chancellor State School based upon anecdotal evidence published by parents across a number of local social media groups so the announcement of an upcoming parent information session on bullying at Chancellor is a welcome opportunity for parents to get better educated.
The Session will be covering cyberbullying, cyber safety, responsible social media usage, safe social networking, how to beat a bully in addition to covering Australian law and the potential consequences of being a bully.
This event is to be held on Friday the 22nd of June between 2 and 3 p.m. at Chancellor State College Primary Campus ( Scholars Drive Sippy Downs ) library in the Blue Room.
If you are a local parent with kids at Chancellor State School and you are unable to attend the upcoming early afternoon session due to picking up kids at high school, working or other commitments we strongly recommend you contact the school or P&C using the details listed below and express your interest.

This year’s Christmas Eve Carols is free family-friendly event will be held on the oval behind the Chancellor State College Primary Campus Hall (See Map Below) and if the weather is inclement the event will proceed in the hall. This year’s Christmas Eve Carols thanks to, Chancellor Park Community Church who are, this year, supported by the Sippy Downs & District Community Assoc.
The Sausage Sizzle is free and Barista made Coffee will be available for a gold coin donation with some activities for kids available after 6pm.

Please be advised the annual general meeting of the Sippy Downs & District Community Association Inc (SDDCA) will be held on Wednesday 13th of September 2017, commencing at 7 pm.
The venue will be the Chancellor State College Primary Campus Hall, Scholars Drive, Sippy Downs.
All residents are welcome to attend the AGM, but only financial members of the SDDCA are able to vote.

Guest speakers information will be sent out and announced over the coming weeks with invited speakers representing a diverse range of community stakeholders and representatives set to provide an informative update on the local area.

The following positions of will be declared vacant at the AGM – President, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster and Committee members.
A number of current members of the management committee will be renominating however we call out to the community for anyone interesting in building upon the great work done by the SDDCA over the last 13 plus years by joining the management team for the 2017 – 18 year and beyond.
‘On Tuesday the SDDCA had the opportunity to tour the brand new Coles Sippy Downs store and with just over 10 days to go until the store opens we would have to say that is certainly shaping up to be a refreshingly new and exciting shopping experience.
We would like to thank the Coles management team for the opportunity to take a look at the store today and we are very much looking forward to attending the community carnival family festival on Friday the 20th of January from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on site at Coles Sippy Downs.
Coles invites the entire community to come on down for the community carnival evening with sideshow alley games and rides, animal farm and jumping castles plus MKR live cooking with Chris and Cookie, Hot 91.1 in attendance plus lots more! And, a fireworks display to finish off the evening.
The store officially opens for trading at 8 a.m. the following morning, Saturday the 21st of January and we are told that there will be a whole range of amazing specials available in store to celebrate.
